The wife of a rich Norwegian businessman has absent missing in a unusual suspected kidnapping and her spouse and children has acquired a ransom need to be compensated in cryptocurrency, police claimed on Wednesday.

OSLO: The wife of a rich Norwegian businessman has absent missing in a unusual suspected kidnapping and her spouse and children has acquired a ransom need to be compensated in cryptocurrency, police claimed on Wednesday.

Anne-Elisabeth Hagen, 68, the wife of authentic estate trader Tom Hagen, went missing on Oct. 31, but news of her disappearance had not previously been disclosed.

“There has been need for ransom, and severe threats have been manufactured in this scenario,” Law enforcement Inspector Tommy Broeske advised a news convention. “As matters now stand, we recommend the spouse and children not to shell out.”

Norwegian tabloid Verdens Gang, quoting unnamed resources, described that a ransom corresponding to 9 million euros (US$ten.31 million) had been manufactured, payable in the Monero cryptocurrency.

Law enforcement declined to comment on the dimension of the need.

Organization magazine Kapital approximated Tom Hagen’s net truly worth at all-around US$200 million.

Kidnappings are unusual in Norway, a Scandinavian nation of 5.3 million that prides itself on low criminal offense charges.
